"An intradermal multiple injection device for the treatment of androgenetic alopecia"
Our Vision
Androgenetic alopecia is a characteristic pattern of balding that occurs in men. Histogen, Inc created a hair stimulating complex (HSC), a formula
shown to stimulate hair growth. The treatment, requiring 400 injections,
is currently performed by using a single simple syringe and needle. Our
goal is to design, implement, and test a multiple injection device that would be
able to deliver the
HSC drug efficiently.
Our Product
Our multiple needle injection head features a luer lock top that will fit in any
standard syringe. It can hold up to 1441.87mm3 of liquid. It features two
rows of ten 31 gauge needles.
Our Team
Our team consists of four dedicated seniors in the UCSD Bioengineering
department. We had the guidance of our advisor Dr.
Jonathan Mansbridge of Histogen Inc, our UCSD Bioengineering faculty and the teacher
assistants, we have gained research, product design experience, and
gained insights on both design and development engineering principles.
